TransJakarta is a bus rapid transit system in Jakarta, Indonesia. TransJakarta started on January 15, 2004 and currently has ten corridors (or lines) in operation. Another five corridors are currently being planned. TransJakarta was designed to provide the citizens of Jakarta a fast and cheap public transportation system to help reduce rush hour traffic.
The first TransJakarta busway corridor between the Blok M bus terminal in South Jakarta and Kota in North Jakarta was opened in 2004. It serves the same stops in both directions. There are two stops where you can transfer onto other corridors. At Dukuh Atas 1 you can walk to Dukuh Atas 2 of corridor 4 via a pedestrian bridge. At Harmoni Sentral you can transfer to corridors 2 and 3 by queuing up at different doors inside the building.
