About this picture
The Sumatran elephant (Elephas maximus sumatrensis) in his natural habitat of lowland and lowland hill forest, usually close to larger rivers, but they venture into hill forest seasonally. The elephant currently lives in the area south of Kerinci, between Gunung Sumbing and Batang Meranggin river in Jambi and the Seblat and Ipuh river areas of Bengkulu.
