June 2008 - Just like in the old days announcements are made on a piece of paper. It states "Those who bring or get passengers have to pay 1.000 Rupiah to enter the plaform", but there is no person to enforce the regulation. The train station at the end of the line that connects Purworejo and a dozen small towns with the city of Yogyakarta still contains the atmosphere of decades ago. A place where time has stood still ever since the railroad tracks were laid and the station was built.
