13 January 2008 - A woman is selling salak from a makeshift marketplace inside the gates of the seaport of Gilimanuk in northwestern Bali. From here, the boats to Ketapang, on the main island of Java depart. It is salak season now, so for a few thousand Rupiah you can buy a kilo of these fruits. If you buy them directly from the garden, you can often even pick them yourself.
