Whirlwind damage

8 April 2007 - A whirlwind that hit parts of a village just south of Yogyakarta, central Java, caused damage to a number of homes and businesses directly along the main road Jl. Imogiri Timur. Roofing material was found at distances up to one hundred meters way. Until late in the afternoon people were working to close the roofs again. The rice paddies nearby were also heavily damaged. This field for example has been flattened by the strong winds. If the rice is not harvested in a short time, it will rot away completely.
