The summit was occupied by a lava dome facing south and southwest from the Pasarbubar crater. The base of the crater was at a depth 100-130 m from crater rim. It is possible that generation of the crater results from the 1768 eruption. A dome in the crater formed in 1786, 18 years after the 1768’s eruption.

BPPTK Yogyakarta reported that 198 multi phase tremors, 4 shallow volcanic tremors and one tectonic tremor occurred on Tuesday (25 Apr.). On Wednesday (26 Apr.), as of 0600 hours, there were 57 multi phase tremors, and one shallow volcanic tremor. The alert level of Mt. Merapi still remain in level III.

BPPTK Yogyakarta reported that 178 multi phase tremors, 3 shallow volcanic tremors and one tectonic tremor occurred on Monday (24 Apr.). While on Tuesday (25 Apr.), as of 0600 hours, there were 53 multi phase tremors, and no shallow volcanic tremor. The alert level of Mt. Merapi still remain in level III.
