Central Java (Jawa Tengah) is a province of Indonesia. The administrative capital is Semarang. It is one of six provinces on the island of Java. The province of Central Java is 32,548.20 km2 in area; approximately a quarter of the total land area of Java. Its population is 32,864,000 (2009), making it the third most-populous province in Indonesia after West Java and East Java, and constituting a bit less than one quarter of the crowded island's population.
Pati is the capital of Pati regency. The Pati Regency occupies an area of 1,491,13 square kilometers and consists of twenty sub districts and more than 405 villages. Pati is twenty-three kilometers from Kudus and is a small town with plenty of holiday resorts in its surroundings.
Among them are Jolong Mountain Resort Panorama on the slope of Mura. South of Pati are the Juwono River Valley, Solomoro Dam and Rowo Mountain, for water sports and recreation. Other resorts are Dukuh Sekti in the Tayu Beach area, the Red Cave and Lowo Cave in the Sukolilo area.
