In every village in Bali, there are several temples and at least one small one in each home. One can therefore safely say that there are more temples than homes in Bali. Most of these temples are shrines and might not be regarded as actual temples, but the number of walled compounds is believed to reach to a total of 10,000.
Maospahit Temple has status as Dang Kahyangan and it has change ancient temple, which located in Denpasar City at Banjar Grenceng Pemecutan Kaja, Sub District of West Denpasar. From Catur to the west more less than 950 meter, we will find the temple at Sutomo Street on the West Side. This temple has known long time ago by Ancient Historians because Maospahit remembered us to the Kingdom of Majapahit and perhaps parts of old of this temple imitated from Majapahit about 14-15 centuries ago.
Some provides of ancient temple here are: Gedong: there are two Arca Terracota which put at right left entrance; Gedong Kemimitan: there is one Arca Terracota Pergina one fragment Arca Terracota; Candi Bentar: has relief Garuda on the left side and relief Bima on the right side.
Actuality, Maospahit temple was Kingdom Temple, when the Badung Kingdom was still authority. Nowadays there are 20 families who take care the temple Traditionally they get the instruction from Pemecutan Palace in arranging and take care physic building and the ceremony at Maospahit Temple.
