Deserted sandy white beaches
|
|
|
July 2008 - A nice stretch of sandy white beach, just a few hundred meters long. The small road then turns inland over a few hills before ending up at the little harbour of Sadeng, in the remote southeastern corner of Yogyakarta province, at some two and a half hours drive from the city of Yogyakarta. Freshly caught fish is on sale here before the sun rises above the horison, good to buy here and eat a few beaches towards the west when the first rays of sun come over the hills.

At the end of the line; Purworejo train station
|
|
|
June 2008 - The small terminal train station of the town of Purworejo, one hours drive to the west from the city of Yogyakarta, is in the middle of the town. It is the quiet environment - the only exception is the still fairly quiet main road passing directly in front of it - as well as the colonial design which make it seems you are going back in time some hundred years. Like time has stood still here at the very end of the railroad track where switches are moved by hand, the ticket booth only opens when a train is about to leave and that is only when there is a train, just a few times a week!

Enhancement of search engine
Since indahnesia.com - together with it's online dictionary kamus-online.com and it's Dutch partner indonesiepagina.nl - is an ever growing website, it was time to have a more proper search engine. To avoid any problems when not displaying all the information available, we have made a Google-based search for the entire website.
Enhancement of stories mainpage
The stories homepage has been enhanced with easy navigation through the pages. However the stories homepage already had navigation, it's position made it that it wasn't in a logical place, so we moved it to a better spot. Furthermore stories are still displayed by the year, or just the latest ten, which is the automatic display when entering the page.
Enhancement of photobook mainpage
The photobooks homepage has been enhanced with easy navigation through the pages. Before all photobooks were listed on one long page, but as more photobooks are added frequently, this had become n inadequate ay of displaying them. Now each page contains ten photobooks.
Fort Van der Wijck, history along the main road
If you are on a visit to Kebumen, don't forget to bring a visit to fort Van der Wijck because you think it is not interesting. It's location is almost directly on the main road from Yogyakarta to Kebumen (on the northern side) - just 500 meters to the north in the town of Gombong - and it would be a miss if you didn't stop there for a visit.
Volcanoes in Indonesia
In recent days over 100 new pages have been added in relation to volcanoes in Indonesia. All the major volcanoes - which are active now or at least were in the past - are listed at indahnesia.om from today. For the currently active volcanoes, we also provided a quick status view of the actual status of the volcanoes.

With giving this section of information a more prominent place on the website, we hope more people will use it.
