16 December 2008 - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono was in Yogyakarta just for a short period. But as usual a President does not travel somewhere if he doesn't have his agenda filled. Coming from eastern Java yesterday, he traveled to the Prambanan temple in the morning while in the afternoon he officially opened Taman Pintar. His evening is probably filled with a dinner with the sultan and governor of Yogyakarta province, Sri Sultan Hamengku Buwono X, which could well be a next President as well.

Whirlwind brings damage at Kampus UGM

7 November 2008 - Originating from a heavy rainstorm that started around three in the afternoon, a whirlwind suddenly came down directly above the campus of UGM, one of the most well-known universities of Indonesia. In just a few minutes time thousands of trees wend down, power lines snapped, parts of roofs were lifted and window panes were sucked out of their windows.

December 2008 · In the last couple of days, the online dictionary of kamus-online.com has been updated with some 2500 phrases and example sentences. Updates at the dictionary are an ongoing process of processing searches performed by visitors and paid members of the website.

December 2008 · Indonesian banknotes have a high rate of new issues. Since the fall of Suharto in 1998, most denominations have been changed twice. Since 2005, the newest serie - with the bright colors as a basic remarkable feature - is completed. indahnesia.com has a summary of what money you can expect to get in your hands while in Indonesia. Be aware of the different colors matching their own nomination.

November 2008 · The current exchange rates on indahnesia.com have been enhanced with the display of two general rates instead of the previous one. Now a range is displayed in which the Rupiah is currently trading, giving a better view on what is happening with the currency. With this, more people will see that the displayed rates are spot on or at least very close to what they will actually get themselves when changing money.

UPDATED: Actual weather in Indonesia
November 2008 · The display of actual weather information throughout Indonesia has been updated. Now you will see more detailed information for just under a hundred locations throughout the archipelago. Displayed information is roughly one to two hours old and is refreshed every time current information is requested via the website.

Enhancement of search engine
Since indahnesia.com - together with it's online dictionary kamus-online.com and it's Dutch partner indonesiepagina.nl - is an ever growing website, it was time to have a more proper search engine. To avoid any problems when not displaying all the information available, we have made a Google-based search for the entire website.

Enhancement of stories mainpage
The stories homepage has been enhanced with easy navigation through the pages. However the stories homepage already had navigation, it's position made it that it wasn't in a logical place, so we moved it to a better spot. Furthermore stories are still displayed by the year, or just the latest ten, which is the automatic display when entering the page.
